How do I clean and care for my rug?

How long will it take for my rug to arrive?
As soon as we receive your payment, we will begin production of your rug. Please allow 3 to 6 weeks for production and another 2 to 8 days for shipping. We do also occasionally hold stock of various rugs styles and sizes. We will note this availability on the product pages of the in-stock rugs. Otherwise, please contact us to inquire about what we have in stock at the moment.
Where can I use my rug?
Our rugs are durable and amazing to stand on. This makes them ideal to be used underfoot at standing desks. But thanks to their bold visual appeal and waterproofness, they also work great indoors in bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens or living rooms as well as outdoors year-round on terraces, poolside, or even on boats and yachts. Our rugs have a nice weight to them; they will not blow away in the wind!
The material Shore Rugs are made of is not affected by sustained submersion in either fresh or salt water and offers excellent thermal stability to withstand the extremes of temperature from -50°C up to 200°C and also resistance to UV and Ozone.
Can I walk on my rug with shoes?
Absolutely! In addition to being very comfortable barefoot, our rugs perform wonderfully with shoes or socks.
How thick are the rugs? How heavy?
Shore Rugs in our Bold Weave have a thickness of about 3cm (1.2 inches) and weigh roughly 1.75lbs per square foot. Fine Weave rugs have a thickness of about 1.2cm (0.5 inches) and weigh roughly 0.8lbs per square foot. More details on each of our weave options can be found on our Ergonomics page.
How do Shore Rugs promote wellness?
Shore Rugs offer cushioned support as well as a textured, dynamic surface which provides proprioceptive feedback to promote wellness. Heightened proprioception improves the balance skills necessary to maintain stability, agility, and coordination skills. Please check out our about page for more information on wellness.
How quickly do the rugs dry?
The rugs are waterproof. The open weave structure allows water to evaporate very easily from underneath the rugs and moisture will not get trapped. Our rugs are also not affected by sustained submersion in either fresh or salt water.
Can I get a rug custom made to my specifications?
Of course! Please contact us to discuss what you are interested in. We can make rugs in both custom colors, sizes, and shapes. For custom orders, we generally have a production time of 4 to 8 weeks, unless otherwise noted. Please note that we do not accept returns on custom rugs.
Please note that slight variations in size of up to 2% as well as color shades are possible, as with any hand-crafted product.
What can I do if my rug gets damaged?
In the unlikely event of damage to your rug (a cut or break in the cord), we can send a repair kit. This contains all you need to fix an issue with the cord, including a special silicone glue, tools, and a simple how-to guide. Please contact us directly and be sure to confirm your shipping address and which style of rug you have. More information on repairs can be found on our Maintenance page.
Does SHORE accept returns?
Every SHORE piece is made to order. For this reason, returns and exchanges are not accepted for any reason other than manufacturing defects and shipping damage. Damage claims must be reported within 72 hours of package arrival. Please inspect your purchase immediately upon receipt, as no claims can be made after this time. Damaged items may be exchanged after claims have been processed. Retain all packing materials, thoroughly photograph the package, item, and damage, and notify the carrier that you wish for an inspection report to be made.
Are Shore Rugs eco-friendly?
All our rugs are hand-woven using a custom engineered synthetic silicone cord which is made entirely in the UK; we control its production and composition. Our cord is made of a very high grade of silicone. Silicone is considered to be a very safe with virtually no toxic effects. Shore Rugs are also hypoallergenic and will not wear down and create dust.
